As an affiliate of the National Urban League organization our general mission is to promote, advocate and provide services. We are a historic civil rights organization dedicated to economic empowerment in order to elevate the standard of living in historically underserved urban communities. We are a registered 501(c3) under the IRS code . As an affiliate our core service offerings are centered in three areas which include; housing counseling, education and youth programs, and workforce develop-ment . Each area has specific goals and require-ments. Our housing group is presently con-sumed with Foreclosure and Default Counseling which includes loan modification and foreclosure mitigation work, however as a HUD certified agency we offer pre-purchase, HECM/Reverse Mortgage, and Landlord/Tenant Counseling Services. We are committed to aid-ing, educating and guiding our clients through all the legalities of home ownership and default prevention. Our Education and Youth initiatives have a three-pronged approached to youth empowerment: GED and College Preparation, HIV/STD Prevention and Juvenile Justice and the Courts System. Our goal is to educated and em-power youth. We partner with the various com-munity organizations; providing free services, networking opportunities and skill training. Our Workforce Development group features full cycle career counseling. We offer resume writing, Interview Preparation and Coaching, and job placement/recruiting services. We are presently designing a job/work readiness training course and computer literacy course which we will partner with other neighbor-ing organizations.
